வேதம் என்பன மெய் நெறி நன்மையன்
பாதம் அல்லது பற்றிலர் பற்றிலார்.
In the beginning and in the end, they invoke his name
those who chant the measureless, permanent
Vedas; only to the wise one’s foot do they hold on to,
those who have shed everything else.
Kamban indulges in word play here – பற்றிலர் (Won’t hold any thing else) பற்றிலார் (those who have shed all worldly ambitions)
